What's your hobby?

You should know by now (and shame on you if you don't; what with the littering of magazines around the stall, LOL) that my passion is biking. The motorized version, that is.

It had always been since I got my licence like, ohh ... 20-odd years ago :-p Back then, I had an old, beat-up Yamaha RX-100 that as I recalled, cost my late grandma (God bless her soul) RM3,000 *gulp* used for her younger of grandchildren. Me lah.

I took that bike everywhere. And I mean, everywhere ... It got me to school for a year, I had the taste of asphalt early on then when I hit some oil put down by some lousy car owner-but-not-maintainer and went sliding, face-down ... Then I took the bike to college where it - due to old age, I guess - jammed its throttle cable, and sent me sliding face-down yet once again thru a corner of a hill road. That time, I wasn't so lucky: had stitches for a big gash on my chin and ankle. Not good.

But fear not, for incidents like this is all part of biking. One just has to learn from those early spills that any biker will tell you, is what makes a biker truly proficient in the skills of riding a motorcycle. SO if you happen to be a mom or a dad that has a kid who's perpetually on his/her bike ... take heart. Just say a lil prayer to the Lord to keep the fella away from other vehicles on the road when he/she eventually bites the dust. And for all you younger ones that are already riding - it's never about the speed, ok?

You want speed? Get the proper equipment and get on the race track. Mat Rempit is NOT cool.

Trust me: there IS a skill on how to get out of a motorcycle crash with little more than a few scrapes and bruises. Wanna learn? Uncle Burger will give a crash course (no pun intended.) Just make sure you have my burgers ;-)
